Montreal Songwriter JESSE STONE CREATCHMAN’s new single, PENNSYLVANIA is XRL RADIO’s TRACK OF THE WEEK. The next installment from his upcoming sophomore album, Radio’s Dead [coming November 2021]. This high-octane single is a psychobilly/surf romp from the self-deprecative Canadian artist. A rollicking, full-throttle adventure over the golden hills of the keystone stone state, Pennsylvania is amplified by the screeching electric guitar of the maniacal RENE DE LA MUERTE, lead singer and guitarist for the band THE BRAINS. Peterborough native ERIK FINES veers along at 80 miles per hour on bass guitar. On drums and mixing engineer for the track is TIBURCE PERLAU of the Montreal band VINYL HERO and DWANE DIXON TRIO. The song depicts a hairy episode in the artists past in which Jesse, following the dissolution of his marriage, escapes from New York City seeking refuge amongst the horse & buggies of the Quaker state. It’s a fish out of water story except in this version, Jesse (the fish) gets caught in the jaws of a thirsty female shark.
Note* Due to explicit lyrics, a RADIO EDIT will also be available.
“Most of what I knew about Lancaster County I learned from the film Witness. I think my experience through the PA hay stocks would have given Harrison Ford a bad case of the wookiees”

PENNYSLVANIA,THE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO, accompanies the single release. Shot by JAMES CORREA and edited by PETER THOMPSON, the music video premieres just a few days prior to the release of the next 007 instalment, No Time To Die. Pennsylvania is reminiscent of an opening sequence in a James Bond movie. It features Quebec burlesque-dancing sensation, LAVENDER MAY (the Bond girl) as the femme fatal. Lavender’s show-stopping performance is a seductive counterpoint to Jesse’s revealing account of his traumatic “sexcapade”.
PENNSYLVANIA [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO]
Radio’s Dead [The Album], coming November 2021, is a genre-bending, LO-FI journey through the highs and lows of the life of the touring artist. Jesse Stone Creatchman, the wordsmith, sings songs about living in Bushwick, a wild-turn affair in Pennsylvania, some nightmarish experiences on the road, his divorce, drug abuse, his time in AA, the death of a friend, and ultimately finding solace in his roots, his music and his family. Stone lays it all on the table, the good the bad, and the ugly. The album puts Stone’s “poetic lyrical prowess and expansive stylistic range” (The Montreal Gazette 2015) on full display. The album is clever, it’s provocative and it’s got one heck of a guest list. Every song is a story on this autobiographical concept album by one of Canada's most daring and inspiring lyricists.
“I booked a gig in Strasburg, Lancaster County
She chained me to the bed frame as soon as she found me
And I was laying there delirious when things started to get weird
Should have known what I signed up for before I volunteered’
Jesse Stone Creatchman, Pennsylvania
The album features an impressive roster of musicians including horns player Raymond James Mason (Sharon Jones & The Dap- Kings) and legendary Montreal harmonica player Jim Zeller. A league of guitar heroes including Justin Saladino, Dwane Dixon, and Rene De La Muerte (The Brains) stop by for the party. Retired cantor, Danny Silverman (Jesse’s 80 year old grandfather), gives a a once-in-a-lifetime performance on the opening number, When She Hollers. Internationally acclaimed U.K. slide guitarist, Jack Broadbent, performs on several tracks.

Q & A – Jesse Stone Creatchman
NICHOLAS JASON LOPEZ - What was your goal for “Radio’s Dead”?
Jesse Stone Creatchman – Well, I wanted to make a great record and I wanted to share my story. My experiences leading up to and including the recording process. I’ve experienced much since my last album – moving to NYC, separating from my wife, seeking refuge in Brooklyn and then coming back to Canada and touring. I recorded in a rough studio that tested me both as an artist and as a human. My values were put on the line. I wrote about the studio. I wrote about getting sober. It’s all there on the record. Also, I wanted a record that was all killer, no filler. Not every song on the album ‘Radio’s Dead’ is for everyone, but I think there is a song for everyone. READ MORE
